Often financial planning or investment management was the key consideration, with the former lacking in high calibre investment performance, and the latter suffering without taxation and ancillary product awareness. We recognised that investment consultancy needs a holistic approach, to meet all of an individual’s requirements, whilst also delivering exceptional results through quality investment management.
We were also certain that a global investment mega trend is emerging, that of climate change and social equality, themes which are encapsulated within the UN Sustainable Development Goals. We know Sustainable and Impact investing methodology is able to capitalise on returns from the mega trend, whilst reflecting investor’s ethos and values by putting their capital at the forefront of social and environmental change.
We realised the last element that was missing was information, an understanding of what the investor’s portfolio constituents were doing – whether the underlying companies were acting for the planet, or against it. Providing performance analysis was no longer enough to satisfy us, we needed to be able to let our investors know where the portfolio was making a difference and in which direction that would take us as a society.
Working within Enhance Group (where James was the founder) had taught us much about investment analysis and reporting. So we decided to set up Concentric as a specialist service provider to facilitate quality investment management alongside impact analysis for underlying stakeholders, via the charity that supports them, their employer pension scheme membership, their trust or simply as personal investors.
Thus, Concentric provides high calibre investment solutions and refined financial planning to charities, corporate pensions, trustees and private clients, offering Impact and traditional discretionary solutions, utilising appropriate structures and cutting-edge technology. We also deliver great investment performance reporting and, hot off the press, we can now we can provide analysis of the impact our investor’s capital makes.
